In this book the author has discussed the secrets of becoming a successful business owner and the differences between working to earn money and having your money work for you. In the first few chapters the author talks about how money works, the art of negotiation, communication, and importance of having connections, and knowing the right people. The next few chapters of the book are about the operation of any business; the process, human resources, marketing, sales, and finance. The last part of the book is about strategy, seeing the big picture, and planning. Most Harvard Business School students do not care about getting a job after graduation according to the author. Because having a regular job is a means, not an end. It is true that great education and having a great career are important in life, but that all depends on one’s goal in life. Having a good stable job would put you in a middle class or maybe in an upper middle class, however if one’s goal is to maximize their wealth and fortune, working for someone else is not logical. The book discusses two types of income: linear and investment. Linear income is when one works for someone else and gets paid based on how many hours they put in which has a limit depending on his or her level of education and experience. Once the person stops working, they will no longer have that income.
